Abstract: This project is inspired by the children's book, Harold and the Purple Crayon. In this book, the main character, Harold, has a special purple crayon which he can use to make sketches onto the physcial environment, and whatever Harold sketches immediately becomes part of the physical environment and can be interacted with in a physical manner. Our Purple Crayon project makes this fanciful story a reality through the use of technology by allowing children to sketch virtual 3D entities which can be moved around the physical environment and interacted with in a physical manner.
